In the past fi ve years, the Upper Austrian plastics location has positioned itself internationally as one of Europe’s most innovative regions. Moreover, as in difficult economic times, sustained success can only be achieved through new ideas, these are being supported by the Upper Austrian government, which has allocated special status to the thematic area of “Research & Development” in its strategic programme “Innovative Upper Austria 2010plus” and hence also the corresponding fi nance. The resulting high density of research facilities in the polymers sector offers industry the ideal contact partners and has markedly enhanced Austria’s attractiveness as a location for plastics companies.

The 1st International Polymers Congress was held with great success in October 2008. Now on April 13-14, 2011, the second congress is to take place and again the focus will be on the exchange of expert know-how and the establishment of contacts with branch decision-makers.
